Every NASA astronaut who goes into
space is wearing an inflatable life preserver from Mustang Survival.
The MAC100 is the second generation of Mustang's
aviation coveralls augmenting the MAC10 which has set the standard
for anti-exposure flight coveralls for nearly 20 years. The MAC100
incorporates Mustang's new "Total Comfort System". The MAC100's
Total Comfort System consists of multiple apertures engineered into
the foam liner and is combined with a moisture permeable membrane
which allows excess body heat and moisture to escape while providing
a thermal barrier against the dangers of outside elements. For the
first time it is possible to provide a high level of anti-exposure
protection without sacrificing comfort during prolonged missions.
This one-piece flight suit provides protection against fire, radiant
heat, cold weather, cold water immersion and drowning.
The MAC100 is a close fitting, durable garment
engineered for maximum mobility during aircraft operations. The
durable anti-static, flame resistant Nomex®
outer shell is reinforced in high abrasion areas with rugged leather
panels. A fire resistant neoprene hood and inflatable mitts are
included to complete the ensemble. The inherent buoyancy (between
18-21lbs. - size dependant) is well below the 35 lbs. maximum
recommended for ditched helicopters, yet above the 15.5 lbs. minimum
buoyancy required for a personal flotation device (PFD).
The MAC100 is compatible with any life jacket and can
be customized for users in high performance aircraft which require a
pass-through for Anti-G garments or other equipment worn beneath the
suit.
FEATURES:
- Incorporates Mustang's "Total Comfort System"
in addition to all the features found on the
MAC10.
- Multiple apertures in the foam liner and
moisture permeable membrane allow excess body heat and moisture to
escape while providing a thermal barrier against fire and cold.
- Zippered ankle gussets assist in donning and
doffing.
- Engineered to provide generous room in high
movement areas for maximum mobility and comfort.
- Outer shell is reinforced in high abrasion
areas with rugged leather panels.
- A range of pockets is provided to store
personal items like notepads, pens and survival equipment
including a survival knife.
- Patented Tug-Tite closures at the wrist and
ankles enhance the in water hypothermia protective performance by
minimizing cold water flushing.
- The inherent buoyancy is well below the 35 lbs
maximum recommended for ditched helicopter egress, yet about the
15.5 lbs. minimum buoyancy required for PFD.
- Inflatable thermal mitts and hood included and
stored in ankle pockets.
- Replacement inflatable survival mitts available
