Breathable Constant Wear Aviation Flight Suit

MAC100

$1,443.80

Retail $2,338.85

Breathable aviation flight suit comes with hood. MAC100 provides anti-exposure protection without sacrificing comfort during prolonged missions.

The MAC100 is the second generation of Mustang Survival's aviation coveralls augmenting the MAC10 which has set the standard for anti-exposure flight coveralls for nearly 20 years. The MAC100 represents a major breakthrough in the technology and design of constant wear aviation coveralls. The MAC100 incorporates Mustang Survival's new "Total Comfort System". The MAC100's Total Comfort System consists of multiple apertures engineered into the foam liner and is combined with a moisture permeable membrane which allows excess body heat and moisture to escape while providing a thermal barrier against the dangers of outside elements. For the first time it is possible to provide a high level of anti-exposure protection without sacrificing comfort during prolonged missions. This one-piece flight suit provides protection against fire, radiant heat, cold weather, cold water immersion and drowning.

The MAC100 is a close fitting, durable garment engineered for maximum mobility during aircraft operations. The durable anti-static, flame resistant Nomex® outer shell is reinforced in high abrasion areas with rugged leather panels. A fire resistant neoprene hood and inflatable mitts are included to complete the ensemble. The inherent buoyancy (between 18 - 21 lbs. - size dependant) is well below the 35 lbs. maximum recommended for ditched helicopters, yet above the 15.5 lbs. minimum buoyancy required for a personal flotation device (PFD). The inherent buoyancy and integral insulation design means the MAC100 will continue to protect against exposure and immersion even in the event of damage to the suit during egress or other emergency operations.

The MAC100 is compatible with any life jacket and can be customized for users in high performance aircraft which require a pass-through for Anti-G garments or other equipment worn beneath the suit.

MAC100 Constant Wear Aviation Flight Suit

All of these features lead to life cycle cost savings when compared to traditional dry suits designed for flight crews.

Hypothermia Protection

Thermal insulation of 0.5 immersed clo in stirred water and 0.2 immersed clo in turbulent water is achieved when tested on the thermally instrumented mannequin with the Tug-Tite® closures secured and the thermal protective hood and inflatable gloves donned.

Flame Resistance

The MAC100 Aviation Coverall provides outstanding protection from radiant heat and fire by achieving a Thermal Protective Performance (TPP) rating of 1900 kJ/m2. This equates to 20 seconds protection from second degree burns under exposure to a heat flux of 84 kW/m2. A heat flux of 84 kW/m2 is comparable to conditions around a crashed aircraft when fuel is burning fiercely. Tests have demonstrated that the MAC100 prevents second or third degree burns occurring within its area of coverage. This contrasts with second degree burns to 57% of the body surface area covered by a plain Nomex® flight suit.

Flotation

The MAC100 provides an inherent buoyancy of approximately 15.5 lbs., size, fit and underclothing dependent. This is designed to be well below the 35 lbs. maximum recommended for ditched helicopter egress, yet about the 15.5 lbs. minimum buoyancy required for a personal flotation device (PFD). The MAC100 is compatible with Mustang Survival's MD1127 Constant Wear Twin Chamber Aviation Inflatable Life Vest (sold separately) for added flotation protection in case of emergency landing. MD1127 features a unique slim profile for constant wear comfort and mobility with helmet on and is compatible with aircraft seat harness. Click HERE for all the information on the MD1127 PFD.
