Flight Commander II Suit for Helicopter Passenger Transport and Oil Rig Platforms $1,831.90
Retail $3,060.50
MS2000 02 - Designed for transporting helicopter passengers over water and for use as an immersion suit on oil rig platforms, this suit system's versatility significantly reduces operator's cost of ownership. The Mustang Helicopter Suit System (MHSS-2) consists of the MS2000-2 Flight Commander II Suit and MD1128A-2 Life preserver (purchased separately). The MS2000-2 may also be used as a standalone waterproof Immersion Suit.

The Mustang Survival Helicopter Suit System is a one-piece immersion suit, combined with an inflatable life preserver, designed to provide flotation in case of accidental immersion in water and minimize the risk of drowning. The system is also designed to reduce thermal shock upon entry into cold water and delay the onset of hypothermia. These components make up the Mustang Helicopter Passenger Suit System (MHSS-2), which has been issued a Type Certificate by Transport Canada. The immersion suit and life preserver are to be worn together when used as a Helicopter Passenger Suit. This quick donning suit is designed to minimize snagging during helicopter egress and life raft boarding.

This suit is not adversely affected by sea water, perspiration or petroleum products and is resistant to flames, rot, corrosion and sunlight.

Shell
The outer shell is constructed of 210-denier polyurethane coated nylon fabric, which is resistant to puncture, tearing and abrasion. All seams are sewn and taped inside using hot air sealing tape to maintain water tightness. The high visibility shell provides waterproof coverage from the feet to neck and wrists.

Thermal Liner
Constructed using three layers of material, the interlining and inner lining are gold colored 100% nylon. These two fabrics enclose the 5.0 mm PVC foam flotation material. The thermal liner is designed to be removable, and is equipped with plastic fix-locks to fasten it to the legs of the suit, and wrists and fabric loops at the neck. Two zippers located along the front entry from the primary attachment to the shell.

Hypothermia Protection
In-water testing results prove that the Flight Commander II provides superior waterproof, enhancing hypothermia protection.

When tested on a thermally instrumented manikin and worn over long sleeved shirt, jeans, briefs and work socks, the Mustang Survival MS2000-2 achieves an immersed CloClick to find out what Clo value means value of 0.9987 in turbulent water. A benefit of the insulated dry suit is that in the event of damage to the outer shell, such as might be experienced during an accident or aircraft egress, thermal protection is only marginally diminished in the event of water ingress. The boots have been tested to a turbulent CloClick to find out what Clo value means value of 1.92 and are an integral component of the overall thermal protection of the suit.

Flotation
Mustang Survival conducts buoyancy tests on their suits in accordance with specified test methodologies. The maximum egress requirements, specified for your environment by your flight safety authorities, will fall within a narrow range of values based on available international standards. Mustang Survival suits demonstrate buoyancy below the lowest maximum values recommended for ditched helicopter egress.

The self-righting Flight Commander II provides freeboard of 24cm (9.4 in), distance from the water to the mouth, when the life preserver is inflated.
