Mustang Survival Care and Maintenance
CARE and MAINTENANCE
Mustang Survival products are made from high-tech materials providing comfort, durability and protection. To ensure maximum performance they must be maintained, cleaned, and inspected on a regular basis. The procedures outlined below are a simple way to ensure consistent performance.
Proper Drying:
Unless your Mustang product is properly dried, dampness and mildew will occur. Mildew is not covered by Mustang's warranty. To avoid mildew, hang-dry after each use in a well ventilated area away from direct sunlight. Do not stow while drying.Sunlight:
To avoid premature aging of the nylon shell and stitching, Mustang products should not be hung in direct sunlight.Inspection:
Before each use, inspect the following on your Mustang product:
- Seams for separation, tearing, fraying.
- Shoulder and sleeve areas for separation or slippage of foam inner liners.
- Zipper for ease of movement and overall condition.
- Check to see that snaps, buckles and Tug-Tites™ are in good working order.
Cleaning Mustang Survival with Gore-Tex® product:
Remove heavy stains by using pre-wash stain remover. Hand wash in warm water (104° F / 40° C) using regular liquid or powdered detergents. Do not use bleach or fabric softener. Hang to dry on a plastic coat hanger or tumble dry. Tumble dry should not be used for products with a non-removable inflator or cylinder. DO NOT dry-clean, iron, or use a heater to speed up the process. Always store your Mustang Survival Gore-Tec® product in a warm, dry place out of direct sunlight.Inflatable:
Check accompanying Owner's Manual for care and maintenance.Testing:
Test your Mustang product at the start of each season. Wear it in the water to ensure it has adequate buoyancy. Products that are not in proper condition must be replaced.Washing Instructions:
Mustang products should be hand-washed in warm soapy water using a mild laundry detergent. Rinse thoroughly in clean water. Hang-dry in a well ventilated area out of direct sunlight. Do not tumble dry or dry clean Mustang products as dry cleaning solvents will cause the foam lining to break down rapidly.
